🇸🇦 Saudi Arabia.
You’ve heard of yachts and super-yachts, but have you heard of terayachts? The Terayacht idea started in 2009 when the designer Pierpaolo Lazzarini conceived a giga yacht structure capable to host an entire city. "Pangeos" the floating city of the future is a concept starting on its way.
Pangeos. Also has the distinction of being the largest floating structure in the world, the terayacht proposal got its name from Pangea, a supercontinent that existed until 335 million years ago. The cost of the yacht, which looks like a giant turtle and will include many buildings from malls to restaurants, from plazas to houses, is 8 billion dollars. In a statement made by Lazzarini, it was stated that the Pangeos, which will be the largest floating structure ever built, will be 550 meters long and 610 meters wide with a capacity of 60,000 guests in the middle of the sea.
Pangeos, which is a “floating city” according to Lazzarini, will have hotels, shopping malls, parks, and even ports for smaller ships and planes. The yacht will be built in Saudi Arabia and a site from the King Abdullah Port in the north of Jeddah has been chosen for the construction work.
According to Lazzarini, “Pangeos is equipped with 9 HTS engines. Each full electric motor is capable of 16,800 hp and is powered by various in-board energy sources. Pushed from a jet drive transmission, the tera-structure will be able to cruise at a speed of 5 knots. While sailing, the large wings will gain energy from the braking of the waves and Pangeos will cruise perpetually without emissions around the planet Earth’s seas. Further, the rooftop area is lined with solar panels, which provide part of the necessary clean energy to power the terayacht.”
